Sweding Project

We chose to do a scene from 'Zoolander'. The scene was where Derek and Hansel bump into each other when walking opposite ways. We chose to do 'Zoolander' specifically, mainly due to the looks of the characters and the actors we had available. Carter resembled Owen Wilson significantly and JP also somewhat resembled Ben Stiller. Apart from this reason, we chose this scene because of the comedic effect and the 'wackiness' if you will, of the clip.

Music Video Update

 Our music video starts off with a close shot and a shoulder in the bottom right corner to imply the presence of other people in the classroom. We also make sure the main actor is walking on the same side of the hall from the camera's perspective to avoid any visual inconsistencies. We also focused on a blank wall after the main actor walked by it, as we will be putting our title in that time frame. Every clip we shot is made obvious that it's the same day by all the characters wearing the same clothes. Also, a high shot was used to show dominance over the actor.

 1. What I learned about mise-en-scene was how important it was to have the same clothes on if we planned to shoot on different days. If we wanted to shoot on different days, we would have to wear the same clothes if we still wanted to add on to and develop the scenes that we had shot prior. As for editing, we realized that there were many things that simply aren't in our control. For example, when filming outside, you can see little kids playing around the park and you could also see a few unwanted extras that messed up the smooth transition of the shots, such as when Shane went to the swings, when we cut to him getting up, there was someone there walking that wasn't there when we shot Shane gathering his belongings to get up. We also realized in the editing process that we have to be more careful and smooth when performing jump-cuts. For example, after JP slaps the paper out of Shane's hand and continues walking, the jump-cut starts off with him stationary and continuing
